EN The Italian-Swiss photographer Ugo Ricciardi lives and works in Turin. After earning two master’s degrees in fashion photography from the Kaverdash School in Milan, he embarked on a career as a photographer, working for the photojournalism agency La Presse and as the assistant of the well-known Giuseppe Pino. During the same period, between 1998 and 2003 he was also an assistant at Fabrizio Ferri’s Superstudio Industria, where he collaborated with international professionals such as the Austrian photographer and musician Andreas Bitesnich and Bruno Bisang, internationally renowned as one of the best fashion photographers. After his time in Milan, Ricciardi returned to Turin in 2004 and focused professionally on the fields of fashion photography and advertising, collaborating with major Italian brands such as Roncato, Mondadori, Keramine H, Lisap, People Milano, Les Pieces Uniques and Luk Ap. In 2004 he also exhibited his Angeli di Pietra at Mara Granzotto’s space, Photoikon in Turin, then presenting the series the following year in Treviso (2005). In 2007 he participated in a group exhibition of the collection of works by the painter Enrico Colombotto Rosso. Between 2008 and 2012 he taught portrait photography at the Ph Libero association in Turin. At the same time, inspired by his constant trips to Africa and the United States, he began to produce personal projects, mainly probing the subjects of the fleetingness of existence and the transformation of material. In 2014 he participated in the collective exhibition entitled Un Certain Regard, promoted by the designer Walter Dang and staged at the Galleria San Federico in Turin.
