EN After completing her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, Loreal Prystaj earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography. She began to show her works while still a student, when in 2009 she was featured at the collective exhibition Magic of Lights in gallery in Rochester (New York). The very young Prystaj first presented the Being series in 2011 at Middlebury, and then the following year in Pasadena (California). That year she was awarded first prize in photography by the ArtBuzz Collection (New York) and received honourable mention for best portfolio from Image City Photography Gallery in New York. In 2013, after being featured at exhibitions in Brooklyn and Manhattan, she went abroad and participated in the Pingyoa Art Exhibition (Pingyoa, China). In 2014 she was a featured artist at Photopalooza, staged at the Erie Art Museum (Pennsylvania), with the work Weightless Spaces from the Dark Fairytales series, which is now part of the museum’s permanent collection. Prystaj’s first solo exhibition was staged in Manhattan in 2015 and was devoted to the Being series. At the same time, she was selected for an artist-in-residence programme in Yamaguchi (Japan) at the Akiyoshidai International Art Village, which ended with the solo exhibition Yuと me夢. That year she was invited as Guest Artist for an event at Public.Factory in SoHo, where she displayed the Body and Bathworks series to accompany a new performance entitled Girl in a Tub. La prima mostra personale è nel 2015 a Manhattan (NY) ed è dedicata alla serie Being. Parallelamente viene selezionata per una residenza d’artista a Yamaguchi (Giappone) presso l’Akiyoshidai International Art Village che si conclude con la solo exhibition Yuとme夢. Nello stesso anno è invitata come Guest Artist at Event in Public. Factory a SoHo dove espone la serie Body and Bathworks in accompagnamento all’inedita performance Girl in a Tub.
