Giuseppe Biasio (Piazzola sul Brenta - Padua, 1928) shows his artistic talent since he was a child so that the artist Dino Lazzaro, already from the fourth grade, takes him with him and teaches him the basics of pictorial art. He attended the Istituto Selvatico in Padua where Amleto Sartori, his professor of Plastic, made him understand that his vocation was to be an artist. Soon the circumstances prompt him to go to Venezuela in search of work. He visited the museums of Caracas, but the contact with local artists, too realistic, will not affect his art. When he returned to Italy he was fascinated by the Great Masters, he looked at Caravaggio, but always with his own singular interpretation. He attended the Venetian circles where he met Rauschenberg in 1964. This meeting was important because Biasio immediately assimilated and interpreted the Master's lesson in his own way, translating it into his pictorial language. In 1969 he exhibited in Milan at the "G 15" gallery. Later he exhibited in Padua at the "Jaccarino" and "La Chiocciola" Gallery. His passion for oriental cultures led him to live important experiences abroad. He stayed for eight months in Saudi Arabia and exhibited in Theran and Shiraz. During this experience he made a living exclusively selling his artworks. At his return to Italy he attended the Venetian studio of Emilio Vedova with whom he participated in a study stay in Salzburg. He participates in numerous exhibitions, in particular at the Biennials of Arte Triveneta and the Pettenon Award. In 1981 with Guglielmo Capuzzo, Guido Dragani, Antonio Sassu, Maurizio Stefanato and Antonio Zago he founded the Veneto Group of Artistic Promotion LA MATITA. After years of silent work in the city of the Saint, his work finally returns to the spotlight in 2008, which certainly appears to be his year. In fact, the artist turns eighty years old. In April he exhibits a prestigious solo show at the Anfiteatro gallery. In September, the Public Administration of Padua dedicates an anthological exhibition to him at the Galleria della Rinascente. At the end of the year it was chosen among Paduan artists for the usual 2009 calendar published by Fotolito Express of Limena, now in its 12th edition.
