I PAINTED THIS ARTWORK IN MARCH 2019. ITS A PAINTING MADE WITH ACRYLICS ON A SOFT FABRIC CALLED GAUZE. THERE ARE EYELETS ON THE CORNERS FOR THE HANGING AND IT IS FINISHED WITH A MATTE VARNISH TO PROTECT THE PAINT, BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND FRAMING IT IN AN ACRYLIC BOX. THE TITLE WAS INSPIRED BY THE SINGER GEORGE CLINTON, AND THE FUNKADELIC ALBUM "FREE YOUR MIND... AND YOUR ASS WILL FOLLOW". THE IDEA OF THE ALBUM, AS GEORGE CLINTON SAID WAS TO SEE IF THEY COULD CUT A WHOLE ALBUM WHILE TRIPPING ON ACID. THIS PAINTING THOUGH REFERS TO THE IDEA OF BEING ABLE TO EMBRACE EMOTIONS AND THOUGHTS IN SUCH A WAY THAT ONE'S BECOME BALANCED AND THE MASTER OF ITS OWN DESTINY, WHICH LEADS TO A LIFE WHERE THE EXTERIOR WORLD NO LONGER PLAYS A ROLE IN THE PERSON'S INTERIOR. I CHOOSE SOFT FABRIC BECAUSE OF ITS MALLEABILITY, SUCH AS LIFE, YOU CAN MOLD LIFE OR LET LIFE MOLD YOU.
