EN An amateur photographer since the 80s, Cesare di Liborio was born in Reggio Emilia, where, as a young man, he developed a great passion for a peculiar form of art: the black and white photography. Di Liborio, after exhibiting in several solo and collective shows, both in Italy and abroad, was invited by Michèle Moutashar to expose his Les colonnes d’Hercules at the Muséè Reattu in Arles, on the occasion of XXXI Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie. From that moment, his career flourished: his work was shown in Bruxelles, at the European Parliament, in 2001; he was also featured in an exhibition in Alexandria (Egypt) during the Festival méditerranéen d’Alexandrie. In 2005, he participated in FIAC (Fiera Internazionale d’Arte Contemporanea), Paris, exposing his Pallas. After exposing his series Les Colonnes d’Hercules at the Photography Museum of Seoul, Di Liborio finished his project Appena prima di..., focused on capturing the moment that comes right before an event, which was exhibited in 2014 in Arles. Cesare Di Liborio’s shots have been published and exposed several times, and are currently part of the photography collections of some of the world’s finest cultural institutions, such as the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles (USA). Moreover, his pictures are part of the collections of the Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Parigi Musée Reattu (Arles, France), of the Musée de la Photographie (Charleroi, Belgium) and of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (Parigi, Francia). Prestigious authors, such as Jacques Le Goff and Italo Zannier, have dedicated many publications to him IT Fotografo amatoriale dai primi anni Ottanta, Cesare di Liborio nasce a Reggio Emilia dove all’età di vent’anni inizia a sviluppare un’innata passione per una particolare forma artistica: la fotografia in bianco e nero. Dopo aver esposto i suoi scatti in mostre personali e collettive, in Italia e all’estero, viene invitato da Michèle Moutashar a proporre il suo lavoro dal titolo Les colonnes d’Hercules al Musée Reattu di Arles, in concomitanza del XXXI Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie. È il momento più florido della sua carriera: nel 2001 i suoi scatti sono in mostra a Bruxelles, presso la sede del Parlamento Europeo; segue l’esposizione ad Alessandria d’Egitto in occasione del Festival méditerranéen d’Alexandrie. Il 2005 è l’anno della sua partecipazione alla FIAC (Fiera Internazionale d’Arte Contemporanea) di Parigi con l’opera Pallas. Dopo l’invito da parte del Photography Museum of Seoul ad esporre la serie Les Colonnes d’Hercules, Di Liborio sviluppa il progetto Appena prima di..., basato sull’idea dell’attimo che precede un evento, che sarà esposto nel 2014 ad Arles. Oltre alle innumerevoli pubblicazioni ed esposizioni, di cui qui viene elencata solo una piccola parte, l’artista vanta il privilegio di vedere numerosi suoi scatti con- servati in musei e archivi di tutta Europa, tra i quali spicca anche il J. Paul Getty Museum di Los Angeles. Le sue fotografie sono inoltre conservate nelle collezio- ni della Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Parigi Musée Reattu (Arles, Francia), del Musée de la Photographie (Charleroi, Belgio) e della Maison Européenne de la Photographie (Parigi, Francia). Diverse pubblicazioni sono state a lui dedicate con firme molto prestigiose come Jacques Le Goff e Italo Zannier.
