EN Working close to reportage in terms of style, Stefano Parisi entered the world of photography twenty years ago, with numerous exhibitions and publications devoted to illustrating countries outside Europe. He never lost the spirit for documentation and even his shots that are specifically art-related maintain their testimonial vein, made even more dramatic by the use of black and white. He participated in various solo and collective shows in Italy, such as Leggermente. Modi e luoghi della lettura (2009), staged in collaboration with Gianni Maffi and Pino Ninfa. Parisi appeared in Photographie Magazine and Pio Tarantini devoted an insightful presentation to him for the Intorno al cibo, exhibition of 2007, revealing the powerful realism of his shots, which are not only social documents but also clear-eyed exposés. Juxtaposed with the work of Robert Frank, these pictures achieve their objective: stealing moments of everyday life to render an image that cannot possibly leave us untouched. IT Vicino allo stile del reportage, Stefano Parisi è entrato nel mondo della fotografia vent’anni fa, realizzando numerose esposizioni e pubblicazioni dedicate al racconto dei Paesi extraeuropei. Lo spirito documentaristico non lo abbandona mai e anche i suoi scatti più esplicitamente d’arte conservano quella caratteristica vena testimoniale, resa ancora più drammatica dall’uso del bianco e nero. Partecipa a diverse esposizioni personali e collettive in Italia, come Leggermente. Modi e luoghi della lettura, mostra del 2009 realizzata in collaborazione con Gianni Maffi e Pino Ninfa. Compare su Photographie Magazine e Pio Tarantini gli dedica un’acuta presentazione in occasione di Intorno al cibo. Luoghi e persone negli USA, del 2007, in cui fa emergere il potente realismo degli scatti, che non hanno solo un valore di documento sociale, ma anche di denuncia senza veli. Accostati al lavoro di Robert Frank, questi scatti raggiungono il loro obiettivo: rubare momenti di ordinaria quotidianità per restituirne un’immagine a cui è impossibile rimanere indifferenti.
